Privacy Policy

TiniDot Quiz (“the app”) is published by Tinidot (“we”). This policy explains what data the app handles.

What we collect

• An anonymous player ID. The app signs you in anonymously the first time it needs a server — for the Daily leaderboard, a subscription, or a question pack. There is no sign-up: no email, no password, no phone number, no social login. What exists is a random identifier and a display name. The name is generated for you (“Quiet Marlin #8766”); Pro subscribers may type their own, and a typed name is visible to other players on the leaderboard, so do not put anything private in it.
• Your game progress (scores, stars, streaks, settings) is stored on your device. If the app has reached our server at least once, a copy is also backed up against your anonymous ID so it can be restored. Deleting the app deletes the local copy; email us to delete the backup.
• Daily leaderboard scores. If you play the Daily Challenge, your score, the time it took, and your display name are submitted so the leaderboard can rank it. Other players see your display name and score, nothing else.
• Feedback you send us. If you use the feedback form, we receive what you wrote, the category you chose, your app version and your platform, tied to your anonymous ID. It is stored by Supabase and forwarded to a private Telegram channel that only we can read, so that a report reaches a person rather than sitting in a dashboard; Telegram acts as a processor for that message. Please do not include anything sensitive: there is no reply channel, and we cannot contact you back. Email us instead if you want an answer.
• Subscriptions. Pro is billed by Google Play, and we use RevenueCat to tell us whether your subscription is active. We never see your card, and Google never gives it to us. RevenueCat receives your anonymous player ID so the entitlement can follow you to a new phone. Google Play and RevenueCat act as processors for this.
• Question packs. Downloading a pack tells our storage which pack your ID asked for, so we can check you are entitled to it.
• Gameplay analytics. We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage events — for example, that a quiz was started or completed, the score, how long the app took to start, and general device information (device model, OS version, app version, country-level locale). These events are not used to identify you personally.
• Challenge matches. When you play a Challenge match, your device sends a few things to our matchmaking server (run on Cloudflare Workers) so the two devices stay in sync: a randomly generated match ID, your display name, the room code, a numeric game seed, your country code, and your answer choices. The quiz questions and answers themselves never leave your device — the server only ever sees which option you picked, never the text. Cloudflare acts as a data processor on our behalf. Match data exists only while the match is in progress and is deleted afterward.

What we do NOT do

• We do not ask you to create an account, and we never collect your email, phone number, real name or contacts.
• We do not sell data, and we do not share it for advertising.
• We do not see your payment details. Google Play handles the money.
• We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is intended for users 13 and older.

Advertising

The current version of TiniDot Quiz shows no ads. If a future update introduces ads (Google AdMob), this policy will be updated first to describe the ad partner’s data practices (such as device advertising identifiers), and on iOS you will be asked for tracking permission before any personalized ads are shown.

Data retention & your choices

Analytics events are retained by PostHog under our account. Leaderboard scores, your progress backup and any feedback you sent are kept against your anonymous ID until you ask us to delete them. Uninstalling the app clears everything held on the phone, but not the server-side copy — for that, email us. Because there is no login, tell us your display name so we can find the right records.
